100 Truths

This is my first step towards writing about me. It wasn't the most preferred one, but I chose it 'coz it seemed quite easy. Once I got to doing it though, it was a different experience altogether.

I've been tagged before this too, but I've never really had the patience to do one of those things. This time however, it was different, with three reasons for me to do this tag.

  1. I had quite a few requests from people to write something about myself, and 100 Truths about me seemed a good place to start.
  2. I couldn't think of anything to write on, no inspirations for stories come to my mind, and yet I wanted to write something today.
  3. It was high time I did one of the many tags that I've been tagged with!

40 comments :: 100 Truths

  1. Ha ha! I have *already* been tagged to do this - facebook and blogger. So, I can *dare* to comment first-up.

I prefer doing tags only when faced with a writer's block...

    So, added to queue. ;)

It sure was nice reading abt you... And your mother is a Robindro Shongeet singer? Whoa... Sounds uber! I am not a music connoisseur; just that it took me down memory lane...

    Peace.

  2. Very smart Arnab.. You spare someone the torture only to put them in a fix.. ;)
But it was nice knowing about you, especially when your blog doesn't convey anything about you as a person

I shall soon get back to you with a request(read idea) :)

  3. Surprisingly, even I wanted to write something but there hasn't been anything that I observed .No observation, No post :(
Such are the dearies of life.. *sigh* ;)

  4. Coming to think of it, ve already done a 50-q'er here. Got 'nuff patience? ;)

So this 100-q'er can very well wait. :)

  5. lolz.. i have done it on FB and trust me it is trying..

and i soo love tantra tees :D

  6. Thanks so much to Isha for tagging you with this and to you for taking it up. :)

I was looking forward to a post that wud talk abt u... and here it is.

Your mom is into Robindro Sangeet...?? Probably that's where your creativity comes from. :)

I am a Tantra fan myself... and u dont look like you wanna kill someone but I think some one has definitely hurt u enuff...and am glad u have all ur life sorted out and you are a happy person.

    Nice reading abt u... :)

  7. WHAT A REVELATION!!

im so glad that you finally took this tag... it gave us an opportunity to know the writer :)

did you know arnab that we share a lot of commonness? see my surname is Majumdar too, and my first concert is my mom's rabindra sangeet concert!!

and phelu sounds soo cute for a dog!!:)

did i ever tell you, you're cute?!

  8. @ Kartz... I gotta say, all said and done the tag was fun to do :) and, it's actually a nice way to rid writer's block... I'll keep that in mind.

Ma loves music, and I'm really glad she's continued with the Robindro Shongeet. Even I'm not that much into it, but still every time I hear one of those songs, the inner Bong in me rises up and smiles :D

    Cheers...

  9. @ Netika... Torture?? :P If you haven't done the tag, you better do it now... hehe.

It's a good thing to do in case you don't have anything to write about. Although with me, it was a bit different, and I actually wanted to do this tag, considering the many requests for some posts about me for a change... however, next time, I'll do a tag when I find there's nothing to write about too.

    Cheers, keep writing...

  10. @ Kartz... No Problemo Amigo. Wait for the next writer's block to finish with this tag ;)

    Cheers

  11. @ Richa... I so agree with you! At the start of the tag, I thought it won't be hard, you just gotta be honest... but then, it's not that easy!

And Tantra T-shirts are a fav for me too :)

  12. @ Harshita... You're most welcome. I hope there would be more posts, if not so direct, then maybe self inspired in some way or the other... although it's gonna have to wait, exams on this week and the next...

I think you're right about the source of creativity, although it sure took a somewhat different direction. I don't sing that well, especially since I've gotten a sore throat for almost all of the last 5-6 years now..

As far as the happiness bit goes, well I choose to be happy nowadays. What's the point of sulking and wasting your days when you get just one life? Plus, my life line isn't that long, so I gotta have as much fun as I can while I'm alive and kicking ;)

Hope that somewhat quenched your thirst to know about me... more might follow in future. Cheers...

  13. @ Phoenix... I'm myself quite glad I took this up. All said and done, it was fun :)

First concerts by parents, or siblings, or by some known Mama or Kaka, sounds like a very Bong thing, doesn't it? I'm mighty glad for it too... hehe.

And, if the name Phelu sounds cute to you, you should have met him. He was a total stray dog in the body of a brown German Shepherd, and the only language he understood (and I mean, understood completely!) was Bangla :D I really miss that big furball sometimes...

Thanks a lot for commenting, and I hope this'll be a first to at least a few more personal posts. Cheers :)

  14. Reality Bites!!!:D

  15. @ akanksha... It really does... although sometimes, it can be quite fun...

    I said sometimes. :)

    Cheers.

  16. tantra t-shirts!!i love them!!
    u r an interseting person...!!
i read d whole thing but remembered nthing:)

  17. @ Blue Eyed Soul... Nice to see quite a few fans of Tantra :) Love that company's wit actually...

  22. wow... another one doing this tag... I try to keep away from it :)

neatly done dude... you are waiting for an inspiration for ur next story... come on.. I thought you have a secret case full of them :)

you have a santa claus jacket??? lol

loved this tag mate... take care...

    have a nice time... cheers...

  23. @ Niti... Lost at India Gate, it wasn't the first time that happened. Was the funniest time that happened though, 'coz I knew the way back to my place all along, and we got lost 'coz of the amazing directions of the company I was in :P

Hulli Gullis... even I didn't know they existed, until that day when Didiya walked in with a big bag of my bachpan ka favourite snack

Kids... depends on a lot of things actually. The main thing being that I'm seeing Didiya struggling with Rik these days, and although I love him as a nephew, being a parent sure scares me right now :D

Nice to see you going so much in depth of the tag there... cheers...

  24. @ Arv... I was trying to keep away from it too, but then it wasn't all that bad when I actually got down to doing it. Gave me an opportunity to showcase the Santa Claus Jacket as well.. hehe.

And yes, I am waiting for the next inspiration. How nice it would have been if only I had a secret case full of ideas...

    Cheers man, take care...

  25. Atlast you revelaed about yourself...
Good to see taht not even a single thing of yours get connected with any of your story....
i must appreciate your intelligence and uniqueness in variety...

  28. Isha has already tagged me so i can comment...

    hahahheeeehee :-)

    Good to know abt uu...

  29. @ Mahesh... I guess it was a long time coming, and I also hope that this (somewhat) lived up to your expectations.

My stories are sometimes inspired by things that I see, not necessarily the things that happen to me though. From all that's been revealed here though, nothing's gotten converted into a story... yet.

Looking forward to your tag too... Cheers...

  30. @ Mahesh... Thanks a lot about the awards too :)

  31. @ Phoenix... I try my best to reply on all the comments I get re, and your comment definitely deserved a reply too :)

Cheers, keep writing, and reading :D

  32. @ Pallav... I noticed that the tag has become quite famous! Would be nice to read about you too...

I hope now you know me a little bit at least :) Cheers man...

  33. I'd like to change my name!!! :)

  34. You would...? Why is that exactly??

  35. i commented here but it disappeared :O :O :|

why will u not marry for the next 7 years :O :O
i loved ur nicknames.. :D tidda :D and baby dinosaur is the best :D :D :P

i dont know why but i simply loved this answer of urs--29. Name something you CANNOT wait for: Writing.
    :D :D
cool answers :D im NOT brave enough to do this tag since my mom reads my blog :P

  36. @ Mads... Wow, I didn't know that happened! Good thing that you came back and posted another comment though :)

About the marriage thing, it's a long story actually. Bottom line, I don't want to do it till I'm almost 30, don't think it's gonna be fair for the girl to be stuck with someone as immature as me before that :P

I'll surely forward your wonderful comments about the nicknames to my hostel fellows, and my ex-colleagues. I'm pretty sure they're gonna enjoy the fact that those names have gained popularity :D

As far as answer 29 goes, it is true. If I get an idea into my head, I just have to write it out right there. Take for example, a story that I published here as well, which was formed (and I mean really formed) all inside my head, during an exam I was giving. I got the idea into my head, and I just couldn't wait to complete the thoughts, and so the story was formed, all while I was supposed to be giving that exam :P

I wonder just how interesting your answers would be, that you're scared to put it up here. Now I'm curious :D hehe

Cheers, and hope that someday, we'd be able to see that tag from your end too.

    Take care.

  37. wheeee I LOVE tags.. simply love em! :) esp when they're about myself .. we're then never short of answers na? ;) goody good.. well done one. Liked ur honest answers.. :)

  38. @ Shruti... I dunno, I've always had a bit of trouble when it comes to writing about myself, especially on the blog. I had recieved a lot of requests for that as well, and I found that the Tag was a simpler way to go about it... and tha fact that someone tagged me at the precise moment also helped :)

  39. YOu have another nick name n that's Gyanendra that I gave you long time back...n u not remembering it makes me feel like strangling you...you thought I was kidding when i gave it you..:X
neway...Joy don't worry, this b'day i'l surely gift you a pink t-shirt. wear it on some nice occasion, sat diwali or new years eve???:D

  40. @ Anupriya... Oh yeah, I forgot to put that one out here. Sorry... hehe. What was the basis for that though? Don't remember that bit...

Long time no see, so good to see ya here. Cheers...
